“All of these dark thoughts gave me some bright ideas...”
Quest4Fire posits the necessity for man to recognize and acknowledge his self crafted blunders as transient impermanent catastrophes; what he has built, he too must destroy in order to evolve. Instead of abject dejection, it proposes he warm his hands with the immolation and embers of his burning past as it lights the way to rebirth. It is the zero point, the crux where nothingness and futility is imminent yet everything awaits in infinite possibility. This auditory flint stone works to set fire to the kindling of self determination and rediscovered belief in ones ability to surmount the impending creative death through mental alchemy. Just as oxygen is needed to stoke the heart of the inferno, so too is the proper resilience required to breathe life into our resurrection. Against our natural inclinations, the ingrained message implores us to accept the darkness of uncertainty for when we embrace it and let the eyes adjust to the nearly imperceptible and mostly obscure environment , that is when we can start to discern our way back to the luminosity of purpose. To rise from the ashes, we must set the old world ablaze.
lyrics
Tabinstereo:
chin up doll
we had some dark years
push along
cause i got me some bright ideas
take what u want
we could get lost here
sit up straight
and put your god damn thoughts away
Taboo:
Live from another life
took the easy way to a rougher nights, ran a dozen lights
Try to reason with my inner demons but they wanna fight
Stuck between push and pull stomach full of hunger strike
I took every dark road cause I wasn't bright
My heart is cold and my soul is trapped under ice
They call me asshole I say “yeah u fucking right”
Climbing out this black hole to embrace what’s come to light
I mean it didn't hurt physically, but paradoxically it murdered that which lived in me
it turned viciously to the point I was getting high on the worst misery snorting lines of burnt bridge debris
...but now the sky's clear my mind steered through periods of time that I feared it can't be night if the light’s here ironically all these dark thoughts gave me bright ideas
Tabinstereo:
chin up doll
we had some dark years
push along
cause i got me some bright ideas
take what u want
we could get lost here
sit up straight
and put your god damn thoughts away
stuck in the web
i am the spider too
nose in a book
i am the writer too
not as good as it look
now what am i to do?
he said "probably give up
thats what i would do"
where ya gonna run
when the bad thoughts
live in your backyard?
walkin in them shoes
should've stayed in the damn car
off to a bad start
fast forward
pennies on ur eyes for the passport
asked for it
-sympathize with the last chord
-criticize everything that we stand for
liquidate the whole store
i dont participate
i give or take a ball 4
walk it off
called for
voicemail
all full
never check it
for the record this is awful
elevated
trying to keep the weight up off you
round here we aint ever really doing much
never call
never stay in touch
never talk
never saying much
never at fault
never paying up
never full
never take enough
never stop
never give it up

Christ this shit is so good. can't really identify with his take on gays running the media or the Jesuit stuff, but all that is irrelevant, because he made a reference to Dune, Talking Heads, and a bunch of other cool stuff. The flow is very fluid which pairs well with the beat. compared to mainstream artists, his lyricism is especially clever. I'm going to look out for a T-shirt with the Vrilmatic album art on it because it looks fucking awesome. Worm

This album proves that you are a TOP TIER writer. Every song is so well written and speaks from your heart. It is an album i play and just read the lyrics along with it and get lost in my thoughts. Thanks for sharing such a personal album . Also I don’t know if anyone you see these messages but if there’s any shirts with this album art or any other albums i’d be interested in purchasing davidloomis
